Finding the right Senior resources can make it easier to stay healthy, independent, and connected. The City of Chicago offers a variety of programs designed to help older adults access health services, nutrition, transportation, wellness programs, and community support.
The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) works to improve the health of Chicago residents by providing public health programs, disease prevention, health education, and community resources. CDPH partners with organizations across the city to help older adults stay safe and healthy while aging in place. Learn more about CDPH at https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/cdph.html.
In addition, Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) offers Senior Centers and satellite locations where adults ages 60 and older can participate in fitness classes, educational programs, social activities, wellness screenings, and nutritious meal programs. Many locations also provide benefits counseling, caregiver support, and referrals to additional community services.
For individuals who need extra help at home after an illness, surgery, or hospitalization, home health services may also play an important role. OCTIHEALTH provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, and home health aide services for eligible patients in the comfort of their homes. Our goal is to help patients recover safely while maintaining their independence.
If you or a loved one could benefit from home health services, contact OCTIHEALTH at (847) 305-3070 to learn more. Combining community Senior resources with quality home health care can help older adults remain active, healthy, and independent for years to come.
